UPDATE

New engine on its way down from the north island....
going for a high compression turbo 5efhte... hoping for around 220hp at the front wheels!
getting repainted soon after engines in... hoping to have it up to standard to enter SI Suto salon... but wait n c how it pans out!

Started life as an 1100 nana spec, im guessing maybe automatic

and yes it has a front mount painted black.

im sure there is much more i dont no about yet.
Was featured in fast fours in december in 2002, was built by carbon composite guru who was then working for possum bourne motorsport.
The widebody kit took 3000 hours to perfect, or 125 days straight, and the moulds took 34 four letre tins of bog to design. (which i bought with the car )
All the gaurds are tube reinforced for strength and weigh less than the originals.

Power was estimated at 125KW before the Evo turbo, manifold and wastegate were installed, on a run in tune. i guess ill c what it can make when it arrives in a day or two, but im expecting good things?

bit of an update

5efhe is currently getting rebuilt.
getting it acid dipped to clean her out, new bearings, seals etc.

4 puk clutch, or just a heavy duty.

Getting the link updated to the G3, then will get it Dyno tuned... hoping for around 220 - 250 hp at around 16 -17psi...
not too sure what a td04 is good up to...but contemplating a td05 upgrade

well so far the build is going to plan,

managed to score an LSD gearbox, which im stolked about.

Whats happenedso far :

Engine stripped and acid dipped to clear old gunked up oil.
Rods and crank checked for sizing etc... all ok.
LSD gearbox purchased.
4efte pistons purchased - Thanks Dark.
MSD coil, TRD leads and dissy cap - thanks BOOOST....
Rear sway bar has been ordered and will be here in 3 weeks.
Gauges etc have been mounted and ive tidied up all the wiring.

ok so bit of an update.

Umm ended up buying new pistons through toyota.
While i was at it i bought new rod bolt, head bolts, and seal kit... this ws through the contact on toyspeedwho i highly recommend. Absolutely excellent price, quick, and seemed to no his stuff.

Bought a 4 puk excedy clutch, and pressure plate.

Ended up using the 3e block instead of the 5e. This was because the 5e block was worn, and i would ahve needed oversize pistons (which i couldnt find), and the 3e block has a smaller bore than the standard 4e, so this was bored out to fit the new pistons.

The head has been ressembed, and given a valve grind while it was apart.
The engine has now been all but put back together, and fly wheel / clutch attached.
The flywheel was also scimmed or whatever ya call it.
Just gotta paint the blcok and sump.

the gearbox is where i ahve run into problems. the New LSD gearbos is slightly different to the old one, and ive ordered a smaller rear mount, which im hoping shoudl fix the problem.
Once this is sorted the engine will be thrown back in and the drive shaft will be measured and send to get shortened. The reason im not buying on from toyota is that the ones that are in the car already have been modded as they use subaru stub shafts.... hence y the shorter shaft from toyota will be useless.

once the engine is in, the car will be sent to my mate Jayden at DM internation in Timaru, where the manifold will be made and the turbo / Exhaust will be fitted. at this time ill get the wastegate screamer plumped back into this exhaust.

other than that, jsut a matter of running the car in, then getting the Link upgraded and VR4 injectors installed, then up to NZEFI to see what sorta power it can make. Going to tune it to around 17psi, so hoping maybe 240hp shouldnt be to far off

well finaly got the engine in today...What a pain in the arse...

cars finally in getting the manifold made up... axels are getting made by local engineering firm. should be up and running by the weekend with a bit of luck!

cars back at the workshop. manifold complete, axels arrived, swaybar arrived, Qikstarlie shortshifter arrived, toyo RAq's here end of the week.

Also found out wheels on it are genuine group A legacy WRC rims, and were originally 650 pound a wheel.
Made from magnesium they are bloody light!

Be running in the next week or two.

Then start getting ready to paint it....

just put the sway bar in. seems to make a bit of a diferenence.
