Well guys finally the correct motors arrived and ive spent the last couple nights after work swapping bits from 4efte over to the 5efhe

im no mechanic or anything but have done all work myself with basic tools, except taking oil filter off, hands were too oily so flatmate took it off.

still i bit more work to go, but will almost be ready to go in

let me know any thoughts or ideas, cannot wait till it is in car and going!!!!!

Not much more to go, need to remove 4efte from starlet, get clutch setup modified to fit flywheel, put 5efte in starlet, get bracket/powersteering pump modified, get oil feed modified slightly.

in theory thats all that needs to be done, hopfully nothing major comes up

havnt done much lately, have got a new flywheel, and had it lightened, also got a new pressure plate, been tidying up engine bay alot and fixing up all my dodgy wireing and removing everything that i dont need.




excedy clutch plate, aparantly got 60% more grip than standard

waiting till ive saved a bit more coin, going to get 5efhe head reconditioned, bit of a port n polish, redo the valves etc. just a general refresh and make it flow a bit easier.

will also get block done (not sure what its called) just make sure bores are perfect etc.

im officially a slack cunt, been about 8 months since i blew head gasket and took off road, no wof and rego on hold and its till not going yet...getting there though

decided against useing 4efte pistons, will keep with high compression, also havnt got head recond as i just want starlet going now, been too long, 5efte is sitting in starlet and just need to plug everything in and fill with oil n water, fix up wireing for gauges, charge battery and will be ready to go.

not sure how will run with standard ecu and big turbo etc but will cross that bridge when it comes, will then be off to speedfactor in tauranga for new ecu and tune as well as fuel pump n injectors as required

progress, only have cvs to plug in, the plug that goes in back of starter motor, sump gasket then fill with oil & water and set timing. also have to finish wiring up my gauges properly and get power steering bracket made up and bleed the clutch, few small things but shouldnt take even me long to do

Engine bay, still bit more wiring up to go, also going to repaint inlet manifold, prepped it for painting but the spray paint came out in blotches, will probably matt black it


new spoiler, will adjust wing upwards a tad once i loosten the bolts holding it together

was disgusted at how the red inlet manifold n stuff came out, looked crap so out came the matt black. Will change wastegate cap from red back to the silver one aswell

still gotta touch up a few places but this is the general gist of it, bit more rewiring to be done aswell but sooo close to going now

is now going!!!!!!!! drives ok, got knock sensor problem causing it to go into limp mode but its going!!!!!

just required bit of engine start

cannot wait to sort the little niggly problems and tidyups
