Now I know that I’ve only been at this board since the start of the year and already I am ranting about changes and things towards the board – that’s only because I (and many others probably do to) want to see the board and the club do well and I believe that it can, if we do some changes of the like:

Regular Meets: I am sure many of us newbie members like myself are very much interested in meeting these lovely and informative people, so why not do a meet, where all the members of the board is openly invited to a cruise. It will be open to only the starlet central members and no one else, although you may bring an extra friend along with you if you think its necessary

Homepage: Well, this would be really cool, it would be better to go to a proper homepage of starlet central rather than a page which seems rather dead and not updated. One suggestion that I have is that, zylex, or who ever has power to install a portal for this message board. That way we can see what’s the latest happening on the board and also create other pages to the portal so that if for example, a newbie comes along looking for a part specification for a starlie, he/she can check out the referencing we have for it.

News Letters: I think this is a wonderful way to bring back those members who just joined to sell something on the board and never to return back. Maybe we could have a weekly, monthly or a periodical newsletter sent out to all our wonderful members. Could comprise of Starlet talk, movie talk, random new-age news and some ratings along with polls.

Um… so much for heaps of suggestions aye? Lol, as I think I’ll let ya’ll know.

those are good ideas, however maybe instead of sending out newsletters, we could maybe do like a newsletter page through the website, so every month, the page gets updated with whats new, what the upcoming events are, etc, etc...

good to see people are thinking of ideas to move the club forwards

Well there was that suggestion passed around last year about a track day meet in Taupo. Centre of the north island and all. If you really are serious about getting as many members together in one place perhaps this would be the best place

The only downfall is that if we want to use the track there week days are cheaper than weekends. But if we had enough definate numbers and enough people paid to split the cost then a weekend hire wouldnt be out of the question. I know I would be dead keen to go have a blat around the track there and I know of at least 2 or 3 others.

May be an idea for late this year or early next year as this would take some planning and commitment on all our parts.

As for Wellington area, once my car is mobile again I am dead keen to organise some meets down here with fellow Starlie owners from Welly and surrounding districts (yes looseunit, starlet, dotdog, tatsumaki that means you guys too

) and of course any other members I am yet to meet from around the place

Newsletter section yep all for it

I'm with tatsumaki on this, I now have a refreshed attitude towards sc and will be monitoring more closely and trying to organised gatherings at least down this end of the country.

Another suggestion I have for the site in the events section is that we break it down into regions same as toyspeed. Works heaps better.

erm...

how about a color change to the whole starlet central forum.

This blue is getting too boring. nothing in it. and as "they" say, the more balanced colors you have in your house(in this case the forum) the calmer the place will be.

Im working on a new site/forum/etc for the whole lot, so stay tuned. Probably take me a couple of months to complete. Similar to AutoGT's suggestions though, it will bring the website and the forum together - more integrated.

Yeah, but if i spend a whole day on it, no work gets done. No work = no money, no money equals no starlet central running, no starlet central running = no use for website

Besides, the code behind it wont be by any means simple... It includes full phpBB integration.

lol, in that case, why are you usin phpbb? why not wbb(i have legit license for that) or vbb(we can all put money and get that)?
