Moderating- titles

Post by AXNGRL » Fri Mar 14, 2003 11:41 am

When I went in to change the name of the topic for the cruise this sunday, (which is under general in an attempt to get some people to see it)
It will let me change the name, but it won't let me save it......
"but officer, what have I done wrong?"

I go in to moderate topic. I change the name, but there is no button to save changes made.... no errors, just can't even get it started to get errors, if you know what I mean....

hey there, i figured out your problem.

you are a girl.

WHACK! i didnt mean it! im sorry, that comment kinda flew out before i could stop it. WHACK! THUMP! i repent, i repent!

1)instead of going into the moderator page, click on the 'edit' button (top right) on the very first post (made by you).

2)then it will take you to an edit screen where you can change the title and content of that first post.

3) type in a new title for the topic at the top, then click submit at the bottom. voila! it is done.

i have to admit it took me a couple of goes to figure it out.

i thought only moderators could change topic titles, but it looks like anyone who starts a thread can change the title too.

ok, I click on moderate, then go into the topic I want to edit, but there is no way of editing, the only option it gives me is splitting the posts & changing where the topic is located.

seems like the same problem as you were having before: you should be able to go straight to editing the post, without touching the moderator menu. your status as a moderator should let you edit anyones post.
