How about a tutorials section like at http://www.toyotaGTturbo.com where people can give step by step detailed instructions complete with photos. this may also stop double ups in the tech section.
Also we're all into improving our cars why not have a contacts section aswell where people who are willing to do a perk job here and there. Or know of good places to get work done can put the details down. Just makes it easyer for the people with there 1st car or that arent mechaniclly minded to find some one the aint going to ripp them off.
example $500 to air out my dizzy cap, new battery (Which the battery they replaced worked fine in my bosses car for 5months afterwards),change ignition leads and clean the crap out of my tank.
I could have done it but i was busy and couldnt be botherd with it i droped it off when i came back i was less than impressed.
All in all we want the best value for our money and not to worry if we're getting ripped.
Just so im clear im not saying all garages are W*&Ks just that one
